Bluberty privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-11-08
Who we are. Bluberty is a calorie counter app with recipes, a community Feed and an AI food camera. It is developed and run by Yan Galaktionov, Israel. Contact: bluebertyyy@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Account: your email address (sign-in and the 4-digit codes for registration, password reset and account deletion), a password stored only as a hash, or your Google sign-in; your nickname, the username others can find you by, and, if you add them, a profile photo and a short "about me".
- Body parameters: sex, age, weight, height and goal, to calculate your daily calorie and nutrient goals, and your main goal for the in-app pet.
- Food diary: the foods, meals, recipes and amounts you add, your own products and recipe folders; burned calories you type in.
- AI food camera: a food photo you choose to analyze is sent to our server and looked at by an AI model that runs on our own server. No other company's AI service receives your photo. The photo is not stored - not on disk, not in the database, not in logs - while it is analyzed. What the model found (the foods and grams, not the photo) is kept for 30 minutes, so the app can get the result back if the connection drops, and a record that an analysis took place is kept to count your monthly limit. A photo is kept only if you choose to add the result to your diary as a dish with its photo.
- Other photos and recordings: photos you add to products, recipes or posts, GIFs you upload and voice messages you record in chats.
- The Feed: your posts, comments, reactions and communities are visible to other signed-in users. A recipe you publish is visible with its ingredients and steps.
- Chats: your messages (text, stickers, GIFs, voice messages) are visible to the person you write to.
- Friends, blocks and message settings: friend requests and friendships, the users you block, and who may message you.
- Online / last seen: shown to others unless you turn it off in Settings; it is never shown to people you blocked or who blocked you.
- The shared product catalog: a packaged product you add by its barcode (name, brand, nutrition values, package photos) is visible to all users. We keep who added it, but never show it to other users.
- Reports and moderation: when you report a post, comment, message or account, we keep the report, the reason and the reported content with its context, so moderators can review it. The person you report never learns who reported them. Moderation decisions (warnings, restrictions) are kept with your account.
- Acceptance of our documents: which versions of the Terms of Use and Community Rules you accepted, and when.
- Purchases: the state of your Bluberty Premium subscription from Google Play (we never see your payment card).
- Technical data: your device's time zone (to know which day is "today" for you) and a session token that keeps you signed in.
We do not collect your location, contacts or advertising identifiers. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting services. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Permissions on your phone
- Camera: to scan barcodes and take photos of food - only when you open the scanner or the camera.
- Microphone: only while you record a voice message in a chat.
- Health Connect: only if you turn on Health & Wearables (see below).
Health Connect
Only if you turn on Health & Wearables, Bluberty reads on your phone, with your permission:
- Active calories burned: the calories your watch or fitness apps recorded for your activity;
- Total calories burned: only to estimate active calories when your watch's app shares no active ones, and only if you turn that estimate on (the day's total minus your resting burn, calculated from your body parameters).
Bluberty adds them up per day on your phone and sends only that one number per day to your account, where it counts as the day's burned calories. Individual records, the apps or devices they came from and any other health data stay on your phone. Bluberty never writes to Health Connect and reads nothing else (no steps, heart rate, sleep or location).
Bluberty's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements: it is used only to show your calorie balance to you, never for advertising, never sold, never shared with others and never used to train AI models.
You can stop it at any time in Bluberty (Settings → Health & Wearables → Turn off) or in Health Connect. Today's synced number is then removed.
Where your data is kept
On Bluberty's own server in Israel, reached only over encrypted connections (HTTPS) that run through Cloudflare's network. Database backups are kept for 30 days. Photos and voice messages are stored on the same server (in its database or as files).
Who else receives data
- Cloudflare: carries the app's encrypted connections to our server and hosts this website. It processes the traffic only to deliver it, under Cloudflare's own terms, and stores none of your Bluberty data.
- Google: when you sign in with Google; for Google Play purchases; and our emails with sign-in codes are sent through Google's Gmail service - all under Google's own terms.
- Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode, our server asks Open Food Facts about that barcode only, nothing about you.
- Other Bluberty users see what you publish (posts, comments, reactions, your profile, products you add to the shared catalog) and the messages you send them.
- No one else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep data
- Your account data: until you delete your account.
- AI camera results: 30 minutes; the record that an analysis happened: with your account.
- Files attached to a closed report (copies of reported photos or recordings): 90 days after the report is closed, longer only while an appeal or a legal obligation requires it. The report itself and the moderation log are kept.
- Backups: 30 days.
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account (a 4-digit code is sent to your email). Without the app, see how to delete your account. Your account and its data are deleted from our server at once - your profile, diary, products, recipes, posts with their photos, comments, reactions, chats (for both people in them), friends, blocks, notifications and pet - and from backups within 30 days.
What stays without your name: products you added to the shared catalog; reports you sent; reports about you with the reported content, until their files expire as above; the moderation log; and copies of your published recipes that other users saved, which keep the author's name they were saved with.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription: cancel it in Google Play.
Your choices
- See and change your data in the app; turn off Health & Wearables; hide your online status; choose who may message you; block people.
- Ask us anything about your data or appeal a moderation decision: bluebertyyy@gmail.com.
Children
Bluberty is for adults (18+).
Changes
We will update this page when the app changes what it does with data, and show the date above.
